The Ledcor Highways group is looking for a Civil Engineering Technologist to work with their Granular Base crew on the SYD Project in Fort Nelson, BC.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Base Superintendent with the submittals of weekly times sheets.
- Assists the Base Foreman with the hiring and record keeping of Gravel Trucks.
- Assists both the Base Superintendent and Base Foreman in the maintaining and operation of the Gravel Truck Scale on a daily basis.
- Produces any required project correspondence for the Base Superintendent, ie - PO's, Letters, Spreadsheets, E-mails Records and maintains files on subcontractor fuel purchases.
- Pick up and delivery of equipment parts for the onsite mechanic.
- May be required to do some Gravel Sampling and Testing on both Base Course and Asphalt Aggregates.
- Calculates gravel stockpile quantities.
- Some physical work involved.
- Helps maintain general project files.
- Operates and maintains the company vehicle in a safe manner.
- Works directly with crew, subcontractors and engineering consultants.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years experience within a Civil Construction or Engineering related experience
- Civil Engineering Technology Diploma preferred
- Previous experience with Highway Road Constrution Specifications and Material Testing Procedures considered an asset
- Strong Computer Skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent multitasking and organizational ability
- Work well within a team environment
- Strong flexibility and versatility within a dynamic site environment a must
- Requires a valid driver license (class 5)
Work Conditions
- Site based position
- Must be willing to relocate to Fort Nelson for the duration of the project; LOA provided
