ComSpan Communications, an Oregon based telecom provider offering FTTP triple-play and traditional CLEC services is seeking a dynamic Vice President for it's Roseburg headquarters to direct the company in accomplishing profit and return on investment goals. The Vice President will plan, organize, develop and and control activities to accomplish integrated company objectives and to optimize the utilization of resources. The incumbent will also be responsible for planning and performance in all of sales, marketing, personnel and operations and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, LTS Group of Companies.
Responsibilities
Directs the development of and participates in reviewing and approving the short and long range marketing sales and other operating objectives and profit plans; develops and integrates the departmental plans and strategies into an overall plan to achieve maximum profits, optimum yield on invested capital and increased earnings. Initiates capital expenditures and develops pricing strategies.Directs the development of strategic plans for the markets and lines of business it serves which are consistent with the established long and short term goals of the company, and ensures their proper execution.Develops and implements an organization plan, consistent with and appropriate to accomplishment of long range established objectives and which will enhance each individual department’s effectiveness, achieving maximum direct labor profit, delineating responsibilities and authority and providing inter-division interaction and defining supporting relationships for integrating all efforts toward achievement of company strategic objectives.Fosters the company safety culture through strong practices and accountability. Works closely with safety personnel, assists in the development of safety policies and practices. Oversees the development and implementation of resource planning and management development programs to meet company goals. Selects key managers and potential manager candidates and plans for their long term development. This implies the required ability to develop existing resources as well as recruit external talent. Lead a team expected to utilize value based, consultative sales strategies and tactics to achieve success. Reviews and evaluates the total company performance on a continuing basis and establishes proper measures of performance; utilizes strong organizational accountability and counsels managers as to execution of programs, and when necessary provides direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions.Conducts and maintains such relationships with key local accounts, telecommunication industry and trade associations, representatives of government, public service organizations, customers and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the division including the Oregon Telecom Association. Engages in other outside activities consistent with the company's responsibilities in the community and the industry.Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Requires a Post Secondary Degree in a related area or equivalent work experience.Requires a minimum of ten years of demonstrated leadership experience in the telecommunications industry. Must have significant experience growing as well as managing, a retail services organization.Leading a small to midsize company or a business unit of a large company.Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement a Management vision, strategy and action plan/roadmap.This individual should have a successful track record of building and managing a high-performance team that has built successful relationships with key influencers in companies spanning a broad array of industries.Strong knowledge of company products.A track record of Sales and Marketing management in a competitive industry.Excellent oral and written communications skills.An ability to plan and administer the activities for staff or professional employees.A rich network of senior contacts within the telecom and carrier market would be an asset.
