Reporting to the Chief Reservoir Engineer, the responsibilities of the Exploitation Engineer/EOR Specialist will include the following:
•Evaluate existing oil pools (conventional and heavy oil) for secondary and tertiary oil recovery operations; •Develop overall field development plans for CO2 and chemical flood recovery projects eg Alkali Surfactant Polymer (ASP) flood; •Evaluate projects related to Coal Bed Methane (CBM) and other unconventional gas plays; •Provide engineering support and work with area exploration teams to develop existing and future company assets; •Calculate, maintain and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the corporate reserves; and •Perform other assignments as required.
We are looking for a person who has gone through the cycle of project evaluation, planning and managing the field development plan to start-up for various EOR processes and who can function as the project leader, completing field development plans for those projects while also doing some technical reservoir engineering work.
The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. degree in engineering and a minimum of 10 years reservoir or exploitation experience in the oil and gas industry. Exposure to unconventional reservoirs such as coal bed methane, oil sands, shale gas coupled with extensive secondary and tertiary recovery projects experience would be highly desirable. Experience with economic evaluations coupled with an exposure to operations is an asset. Strong communication, organizational and team skills complemented with a strong work ethic are also necessary.
