Summary:
Responsible for supervising the process services group, overseeing process simulations/calculations/design requirements as specified by the customer and the project manager as related to natural gas processing.
Responsibilities
- Leadership, mentorship and coordination of process engineering personnel
- Execution of Feasibility Studies / Conceptual Design / Process Studies.
- Process simulations, modeling and optimization of natural gas and oil processing facilities including dehydration, H2S & CO2 removal, dewpoint control, fractionation and LPG production facilities.
- Development and stamping of key design documents (Material Balances, PFD’s, P&ID’s, Shutdown keys).
- Detailed design of process equipment: line heaters, separators, filters, line sizing, control valves, PSV sizing (preparation of equipment process data sheets).
- Conduct P&ID/HAZOP reviews; generate control narratives; prepare commissioning and operation manuals.
- Development & improvement of standard equipment & processes, and in-house training courses.
- Evaluation and development of new technologies & processes.
- Assignment of work tasks and resource planning of the process services group ensuring adherence to group performance targets.
Qualifications:
- Chemical Engineering or related Engineering degree and a Registered Professional Engineer is required.
- Minimum 15 years oil and gas experience in the gas processing industry with experience in manufacturing and fabrication.
- A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience leading a process engineering team including resource planning, setting team/individual goals and performance management.
- Process design experience including process mass balance, process flow diagrams and process support services.
- Systems design experience including piping and instrument diagrams, hazard and operability design reviews.
- Proficient with HYSYS and related simulation software, and Microsoft Office application software.
- Effective interpersonal, leadership and communication skills, both verbally and written, ensuring accountability of personnel.
