Key Responsibilities
- Participate in planning, cost estimates and details using established guidelines relative to the field of structural engineer.
- Complete analysis and design calculations and ensure plans correspond to guidelines, code prescriptions and other regulations.
- Tendering and specifications writing.
- Complement the role of a Project Engineer.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients in order to define and address their needs, explain technical information, concepts or study results.
- Verify and complete Request For Proposals and prepare engineering budgets.
- Supervise the work of junior engineers, technicians and draftspersons assigned to projects.
- Assist the Structures Manager in business development and growth of the Structures Group.
- Perform all other related tasks that will help complete the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or all other equivalent training and registration with APEGGA.
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the field of structural engineering with special emphasis on bridges.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and willing to nurture and mentor others.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willing to learn new skills to augment existing knowledge.
- Good initiative, attention to details.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
