Shell is currently seeking a Utilities Activity Coordinator for their Cold Lake, Alberta office.
Responsibilities:
The Utilities Activity Coordinator position requires First Class Steam Certification and is responsible to supply visible leadership in the Utilities Area. Their time dealing with purely reactive issues (i.e. daily maintenance activities) will be limited to the coaching and guidance of Maintenance and Shift Operations personnel (who are responsible for dealing with reactive issues). The primary responsibility of this role is to maximize the Utilities area operation both from a HSE and production perspective. It is necessary to support all work groups when Complex revenue generation or asset integrity is being impacted negatively based on performance monitoring and targets. You will act as lead resource in the troubleshooting utility process.
The Utilities AC will be accountable to provide the following:
- Provide direction within the operations group in the areas of safety, sustainable development, cost control, revenue generation, and organizational effectiveness by managing the process and securing the resources to effectively manage the business
- Be thoroughly knowledgeable of the technical and business process and sub-processes in their area of responsibility as well as retaining a working knowledge of the entire Orion Complex
- Provide input and direction into the Orion planning process
- Accountable for the Coordination of work activities between operations and maintenance ensuring minimal production losses due to equipment downtime or maintenance activities
- Coordinate Lock out / Tag out requirements with operations and maintenance to ensure job plans are prepared and ready when planned
- Develop operational job plans to ensure that all activities follow the Orion planning process and all necessary HSE requirements
Requirements:
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- No "fly in, fly out" option is offered with this position. Relocation is required.
- Must hold First Class Steam Certification
- Complex Steam chief and ABSA Liaison
- Proven technical knowledge of Utility Operations and all associated equipment
- Proven Interpersonal and leadership skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good PC skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge of Complex business systems (SAP, Fountain, PI, etc) is an asset
- Proven problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- Knowledge of OH&S Code, ERCB regulations and directives and AENV operating approval requirements
- Incumbent is required to be in good physical condition having to visit all areas of the Plant involving process areas, heights and confined spaces
- Required to be On Call as part of Complex Emergency Response Team
- On Call for Utility area
