This position is based at our Wolf Lake/Primrose fields and requires residency in the Bonnyville/Cold Lake Alberta area.
Candidates must have a Journeyman Instrument Mechanic or Electrician certificate (or Dual-Ticketed Journeyman) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of oilfield equipment. Demonstrated knowledge of CMMS (Maximo) is also a requirement. Candidates must be proficient in spreadsheet applications and various Programming Languages. Strong communication, organizational and team leadership skills, complemented by a strong work ethic, are also required.
Reporting to the E/I Maintenance Foreman, the responsibilities of the Assistant E/I Maintenance Foreman, Thermal include, but are not limited to:
· Supervise CNRL/contract instrument and electrical and periodic outside contract services;
· Oversee electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities in assigned area;
· Provide input into balancing manpower and developing a cross-training strategy;
· Work with planners and operations to plan and schedule routine repairs, PMs, equipment enhancements, program changes and turnarounds based on production/steam forecasts and capital projects;
· Assist in new project design, equipment selection, spare parts requirements and construction inspections;
· Expedite emergency high value/priority repairs when required;
· Approve all expenses for area instrument / electrical work and provide input into cost control / budgets;
· Troubleshoot and validate instrumentation, electrical and programming work orders;
· Ensure regulatory metering and safety equipment calibrations are completed on time;
· Identify high maintenance costs “bad actor” equipment and work with technical groups on failure analysis and implement improvements;
· Optimize critical spare stock by review of warehouse inventory/surplus and new project additions;
· Assist operations and Facilities groups with sourcing and startup of new equipment and updating tags into Maximo CMMS in a timely manner;
· Promote safe work practices by job procedure implementation, electrical code compliance, company QC programs adherence and by ensuring personnel safety training is current;
· Submit QMP Electrical logs;
· Participate in the Process Safety Management programs in the areas of Safeguarding, HAZOP, Equipment Integrity, Risk Management, Operating and Maintenance Procedures, Process Change Review, Incident and Accident investigations;
· Assist in craft work load levelling and long & short term maintenance strategies;
· Ensure drawing asbuilts are completed and submitted for drafting; and
· Insure all PLC, DCS and HMI changes are recorded and all system backups made regularly and stored in secure location.
