POSITION SUMMARY

Ledcor's Technical Division (LTS Solutions Ltd) is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Project Manager to fill the Wireless Project Manager / Estimator position for the Wireless Division in the Edmonton or Calgary areas in Alberta. LTS Solutions Ltd is a leader in providing telecommunication support services across North America. We specialize in providing maintenance, engineering and emergency restoration support to major telecommunication carriers across Canada and the USA.

The LTS Wireless Division is capable of building and maintaining Wireless sites for Broadband, Microwave and Cellular providers. This Division has the capability of building wireless sites from the ground up, working on existing or new towers and rooftops for our clients. Leveraging our specialty trained LTS Technicians across Canada; we also offer the installation and commissioning of wireless equipment and emergency restoration in support of wireless communication carriers across Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all potential project estimating. Regular bid walks with potential customers for the purpose of providing a quote to build wireless sites, microwave hops and any other wireless work.
  • Organize and leverage pricing from electrical, civil and mechanical contractors, or Ledcor Construction, to place together bid documentation.
  • Manage the overall site build from conception to completion.
  • Dispatch and organize Rigging crews and required contractors such as civil, electrical and mechanical, to complete the site on a daily basis as required.
  • Accountable to provide the Riggers with the necessary training to maintain certifications and rigid safety guidelines for tower and climbing work.
  • Maintain rigid financial records of all work for the purpose of process improvement and ensuring Ledcor is maintaining a competitive cost structure. Create and update financial and progress reports.
  • Responsible for overall quality of the sites.Expected to be the key customer liaison dealing with project progress and quality issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for procurement of materials such as steel, steel fabrications, transmission lines, leasehold materials, grounding materials and any other materials that would be required to build a site.
  • Responsible for the installation / commissioning of wireless equipment and coordination of existing technicians as required.
Requirements
  • Engineering Degree, Technical Diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years telecommunications wireless experience and project estimating.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience as a Project Manager or in a similar direct leadership role.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the nuances of wireless site builds and an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to build a cellular suite.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Understanding of construction documents and the ability to ensure that they are complete, protect the owner's and Ledcor's interest, clearly define expectations and provide incentive to perform.
  • Contract negotiation / management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction project costs and budgets.
  • Understand method of bidding, purchasing, negotiating, contracting, cash flow, expediting, receiving and transporting.
  • Ability to build a strong team oriented Health and Safety concious culture in the work site.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
