Diavik Diamond Mines (DDMI) owns Rio Tinto's interest in and manages the unincorporated Diavik diamonds joint venture in the Northwest Territories of Canada. Mining takes place in the lake bed at Lac de Gras with water held back by a dike made of rock fill. With approximately 800 employees, Diavik is instrumental in making Canada the world's third largest diamond producer by value. Reporting to the Chief Metallurgist, the Graduate, Paste Engineering will work on a four (4) days on / three (3) days off rotational basis at the Lac De Gras Mine Site with a pickup point within the Northwest Territories. The incumbent will provide technical support in CRF/Paste to the Paste Plant in order to ensure that plant employees are able to meet targets for throughput and product quality in a safe and cost effective manner.

Key aspects of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Tracking Crusher, Paste and Batch Plant operational efficiency;
• Providing accurate process monitoring data;
• Recommending Plant improvements;
• Assisting Paste Plant Superintendent in providing accurate production reports;
• Assisting Paste Plant Superintendents/Supervisors in building an efficient workforce;
• Meeting personal safety plan commitments.

Above all, the successful candidate will be one whose #1 priority is safety in the workplace. The incumbent will hold a Bachelor's degree in paste engineering and be eligible for membership in NAPEGG. Northern mining experience will be considered as an asset.
