Shell is currently seeking a Administrative Technical Assistant* to work at the Fort McMurray Albian Sands mining project. This position is a TERM position until December 31, 2010.
Responsibilities:
Reception - Health centre & phone reception
- Schedules appropriate employee appointments with nurse/physician (at site &/or in-town office); communicates with supervisors/HR as necessary in relation to Occupational Health (OH) services (e.g. pre-placement medicals); prepares/pulls charts; ensures documents needed for appointments available/received; completes appropriate paper work/forms & testing for appointments; arranges lab appointments as necessary.
- Arranges/coordinates out-of-town health appointments
Records Management - Manages medically confidential health records for active, retired & terminated ASE employees
- Maintains administrative files
- Assists IH with chemical material inventory
- Assists IH & OH with statistics & reporting
Other General Administrative/Clerical Duties - Other administrative support duties for Health Group, such as:
- Handles incoming/outgoing mail/faxes; photocopying
- Assists with documents (e.g. word processing correspondence, preparation of presentations)
- Assists with administrative tasks (e.g. invoices, meeting & travel arrangements, calendar management, equipment troubleshooting)
- Orders stationery & other supplies
Testing Duties - Training will be provided to obtain and maintain technician certification, after which the successful candidate will be required to perform the following testing:
- Audiometric testing
- Pulmonary function testing
- Breath alcohol testing & urine drug sample testing/collection, & respirator fit testing.
Requirements:
- 3 years administrative office or technical work
- Read and Write English language at high school level.
- Requires good/excellent computer skills. Must have a good/high level of understanding & user/working knowledge of various software applications including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook & LiveLink.
- Maintenance of medical confidentiality, & data integrity are critical.
- Must be able to work independently, but also as a team player. Must be creative about/open to innovative ways to work in order to maximize efficiency, & achieve results & organizational goals. Must have strong organizational skills & ability to prioritize work.
- Must be comfortable learning new technology (e.g. health database).
- Must be analytical & able to identify potential problems & potential solutions.
- Certification in Audiometric testing
- Pulmonary Function testing
- Breath Alcohol & urine drug sample testing/collection
- Respiratory Fit testing
